Undone, frizzy "bedhead" hair is replacing slicked-back styles on the spring/summer 2027 runways, according to Hello! magazine. In London, Dreaming Eli showed softly waved low ponytails with loose strands and messy braids, KNWLS used loose low ponytails with middle partings and stray hairs, and Erdem sent models out with low plaits and cool-girl wisps. Bora Aksu's twirling updos, held by crochet bonnets, had a frizzy finish, and Fashion East revived 1970s-style shag cuts and curls.
At Maximilian Raynor, Tom Warr of Blue Tit London took 1990s David Beckham hair as a reference and updated it with an undone, grown-out texture. Yuhan Wang styled hair to look slept-in, with floral silk eye masks resting on models' foreheads, and Susan Fang paired braided updos with a spiked 1990s pop-star finish. In Milan, Prada's back-brushed hair accompanied its bralette-and-midi-skirt looks.
London also had more sculptural moments. Dazed reported that at Alexander McQueen, Anthony Turner slicked hair into silver-sprayed upright horns, Efi Davies made wet-look buns at Di Petsa, and Nick Irwin wove geometric cornrows at Labrum.
The common thread across the shows is texture that looks lived in: loose braids, low ponytails and a few stray pieces.
