New York Fashion Week's spring/summer 2027 season ran from September 10 through 15, with roughly 70 shows and presentations on the official calendar. It opened with Henry Zankov's debut collection as artistic director of Diane von Furstenberg and closed with Thom Browne. Ralph Lauren showed on September 9, the eve of the official schedule, alongside Coach, Cult Gaia, Libertine and Rachel Comey, who marked 25 years in business.

Heritage was a recurring theme. Coach celebrated its 85th anniversary, and Tommy Hilfiger returned to the calendar after an absence with a runway show on September 11. Michael Kors presented in the Sculpture Garden of the Museum of Modern Art with a bold color palette, while Calvin Klein drew early attention for a minimalist approach, according to a South China Morning Post roundup. Khaite offered a boudoir-inspired show that featured Kaia Gerber on the runway.

Several designers joined the official calendar for the first time, including Benjamin Seidler, Conner Ives, Magda Butrym, Max Esmail, Patrick Taylor, Sabyasachi by Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Zaldy, and finalists of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund also showed. The week was the first under the CFDA's new policy barring animal fur from the official schedule.

The schedule also reflected the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks: organizers adjusted Friday's calendar so that no runway shows began before 10 a.m. out of respect for the day.

Reporting based on the CFDA's published schedule and coverage from the South China Morning Post and RetailBOSS.
